Fine dining at The Walnut Tree Inn
With a taste of Northamptonshire
Succulent locally reared beef, tasty free-range poultry from Yardley Hastings and deeply delicious free range eggs from Stoke Bruerne, just a few of the locally sourced foods we offer in the dining room and bar at the Walnut Tree Inn. We’re committed to providing you with the very best ingredients, whilst supporting local farmers and suppliers – you’ll enjoy a true taste of the county.
Our chefs will serve up the most mouth-watering dishes for your enjoyment, from our top-end rib-eye steaks that customers come back time and time again for to our award-winning cheeseboard. Whatever your dietary requirements (we cater for vegetarians, vegans, coeliacs, wheat and nut allergies, etc), with our thoughtfully prepared menu, you’re bound to be spoilt for choice.
The same could be said of our wine list too – we’ve an extensive list of whites, reds, rosés, sparkling wines and champagnes, and dessert wines, to suit even the most discerning connoisseur, with each one carefully chosen to go perfectly with our menus. Plus, with a fully stocked bar, you can enjoy your favourite tipple before or after your meal, maybe sampling one of the 30+ different whiskies, 10 brandies and 8 rums we have on offer.
“The food is excellent. I had the steak for dinner and I can honestly say it is one of the best steaks I have ever eaten. Genuinely brilliant!”

Driving (or teetotal)?
There’s always a large range of soft drinks, including Pago’s fine organic juices, and a selection of freshly brewed teas and coffees.
Real ales, not for the feint-hearted
If it’s a good old-fashioned pint of beer that’s your preference, look no further than our bottled and draft beers and our real ales. Being an independently run hotel and restaurant, means we can offer you great local beers such as Towcester Mill Race and Phipps IPA on tap and we’ve always got at least two guest ales to whet your taste buds. Our Sunday Best! The great British Sunday lunch
There’s nothing like it, is there? Sunday roasts with the full ensemble of vegetables and proper stockpot gravy. Tender Northamptonshire reared beef, pork and chicken, as well as fish and vegetarian options, with smaller portions for children. Booking is recommended and at our sensible prices, you might want to make it a family occasion.
