Covid-19 – Guidance for Funeral Receptions

Wakes or funeral receptions before or after the funeral are limited to 15 people and must not take place in private homes. Where food or drink is consumed, this should be in the form of a sit down meal.

Anyone working at a wake or funeral is not generally counted as part of the limit. Within these larger gatherings, people do not need to limit their interaction to groups of 6 or their own household, but social distancing should still be followed between people who do not live together or share a support bubble.

Funeral Receptions and Wakes

The Walnut Tree Inn in Blisworth is the ideal venue for funeral receptions. The proximity to The Counties Crematorium, Northampton (10 minutes away) and the M1 and A43 along with a choice of free private rooms, plenty of free parking and guest bedrooms make this the perfect venue.

We are currently offering a high tea menu between 10am-5pm or a selection from our main menu to order on the day between 12noon-2pm.

Our helpful and sympathetic staff will assist you in planning the event and providing refreshment to mourners who may have travelled some distance and be in need of sustenance, providing an opportunity for family and friends to congregate and reminisce.

We offer a projector and screen to display any computer-based material, such as a slide show, and can accommodate any music requests.

We have facilities to plug in an MP3 player, iPhone or similar if you wanted to play some music you may have with a special significance.
